Movetech UK (Part of the British Turntable Group) is continuing to invest in the future by expanding its workforce to facilitate their continuous growth. The latest to join the team are Chris Denny, Engineering Apprentice, from Kearsley, Bolton and Wayne Biggs, Project Engineer, who hales from nearby Blackburn.
23 year old Chris Denny has enrolled with the company on a formal engineering apprenticeship scheme through Alliance Learning, a local independent apprenticeship training provider with over forty years experience in the training industry. As part of his apprenticeship Chris will continue to study at college once a week to complete his NVQ in maintenance engineering. “We’ve been extremely impressed with the hard work and ambition Chris has shown since his arrival in August. Now Chris has adapted to his role within the company he will continue to follow a structured path that will lead to formal, universally recognised qualifications, serving him, and us, better in the future,” says Movetech UK’s Operations Director, Russell Entwistle. Chris will continue to develop his skills to become a qualified Turntable Technician and his duties will include fitting and fabrication of products and sub assemblies. He will additionally support onsite and offsite servicing, inspections and repairs of any of the company’s products which will assist in prolonging the productivity and efficiency of the company.
Movetech UK’s other new recruit is the Technical departments Project Engineer Wayne Biggs who will be responsible for the day-to-day management of technical engineering projects from the point of sales handover to delivery and commissioning. During live projects he will be the main point of contact for customers and will be responsible for several projects at any one time. Craig Wright, Movetech UK’s Technical Engineering Manager said “Knowing Wayne has an excellent engineering background will benefit the company hugely as our projects are in various industries such as construction, aerospace, automotive, rail and nuclear, so to have Wayne’s vast amount of experience and industry knowledge makes him an excellent fit for the company.” Wayne will additionally produce and manage various documentation such as project plans, method statements and risk assessments to help the company continue to prosper and move forward with its continuous growth.
Tim Entwistle, Movetech UK’s Managing Director, is enthusiastic about the added value the new recruits will bring to the company. “We did have an instantaneous need for additional skilled hands to fulfil our existing order book,” he says. “Nevertheless just as important was the need to invest in the future or our planned growth could not occur. There is a strong aspiration by the company’s management team and employees to grow the business, and to do this we must build on existing strengths and expand our capabilities.”
